In my first blog post, I joked about how needing a new camera would help take my blog to the next level.
That wasn't entirely true.
Realistically, enhancing my photography skills and cropping out that darn date stamp will help take my pictures to the next level. (And that fabulous website Picnik)
I've discovered two things that will never change.
1. My drawing ability....or should I say inability.
2. The amount of time it takes to figure out how to get an image onto a cookie, trace it or attempt to freehand an outline on one cookie after another.
But I've found a solution.
I've known about these for a few months now and have read several cookiers who have them and several cookiers who don't.
It appears as though most cookiers are on the fence about them. Some say they're too bulky to use all the time and end up being a dust collector. Some say they make being creative easier as you don't have to figure out how to put a design on a cookie. You just print whatever image you want, size it correctly and stick cookie after cookie under the image.
Personally, I've always secretly (or not so secretly) wanted one.
Like I said, my drawing abilities aren't getting any better.
But I've pushed the thought out of my mind because they're so darn expensive.
I mean $225 for something that I primarily do as a hobby is just a little too expensive for my blood at this moment.
Although, if I won the lottery, this would be pretty high up on my priority list.
(You know, after paying off loans and bills and doing other such responsible things.)
I saw this blog post today at Somewhat Simple and now I'm convinced there must be a KopyKake in my future.
(maybe I'm just obsessed because the KopyKake uses my love for alliteration in Ks)
Look at these beautiful cookies.
A Damask print? I could NEVER duplicate that.
Ashleigh from Bee in Our Bonnet did a fantastic job.
All thanks to the KopyKake. Also, think about all the time that projector saved!
Looks like it's time to start saving my pennies.
Or begging my husband mercilessly for an early Christmas gift.
