Even if I'm lucky enough to get a KopyKake for Christmas....that's still almost 3 months away.
I've talked about sketching my designs beforehand, but that only helps with the creative design.
I needed something to help with consistency, especially for larger orders.
The other night as I was falling asleep, a lightbuld went off in my head. (or is it on?)
Anyways, I had an 'ah-hah' moment.
Several years ago, my family bought me an embossing kit and I remembered I had a blunt rounded tip tool used to emboss images onto paper.
Viola! The key to keeping designs look as similiar to each other as possible.
I trace an image onto a piece of paper, then put the paper on top of the dried cookie, then trace the design onto the cookie.
If you try this method, don't push too hard or you'll crack the icing! Eventhough it comes in super handy, it does add an extra step to the decorating and can be quite time consuming.
I'm so happy I remembered I had this tool. (and knew where it was!!!)
