Last weekend, I saw some adorable bowtie cookies posted on Lone Stars and Stripes facebook page. I shared them on my page and jokingly asked who wanted to give me an opportunity to make some bowties.
Little did I know someone would actually take me up on my offer!
Now, I don't have a bowtie cookie cutter (although, I may definitely have to purchase one!). I had to hand cut each cookie, which I don't mind taking the time to do. What I do mind; however, is the uneven and not very smooth outer edges of the cookie. Most people probably wouldn't even notice, but my slightly over detailed, OCD self can tell the difference between hand cut cookies and cookie cutter cut cookies.
While I used the same basic argyle style and gray, blue and green colors, I changed the finishing details in white icing. I absolutely love how simply changing the application of the white icing changes the entire look of the cookie.
And of course, you know no baby order from me would be complete unless I threw in some onesies.
I kept the onesies simple this go round.
I loved the colored onesies with the white piping and simple bowtie accent to tie in with the theme.
