When my sisters and I were growing up our kitchen was decorated with cows. My mom loved (s) cows. Not sure why, but she does.
And my grandmother has an obsession with giraffes. They're everywhere in her apartment!
But for me...it's elephants. (and birds-which have suddenly appeared in several places in my family room).
Back to elephants.
I think it's because of all of the sayings that include elephants.
An elephant sitting on your chest.
An elephant in the room.
An elephant never forgets.
White elephants symbolize fertility.
I've felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest.
I've been in plenty of rooms where I'm pretty sure an elephant was in, too.
I work with people who have dementia on a daily basis and I love remembering "an elephant never forgets" because those people with dementia...well...they never really forget either.
My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years and we still don't have children...and those white elephants symbolize hope.
It was no wonder I absolutely loved making these cookies.
Again, I pulled the image from the invitation and tweaked it just a bit.
I bet you're not surprised to see the use of chevron again!
Thank you Lauren!!!
