When I was in high school, I had a hunch I would marry someone who wore a uniform for a living. Most of my friends were in ROTC and I just assumed it would be someone in the military. Little did I know I would marry a police officer.
My husband was about half way through the police academy when I met him. He had just celebrated his 23rd birthday and his lifelong dream to be a police officer was finally happening. I learned right away how to deal with rotating schedules and midnight shifts. For the past 8 years he's worked in our equivalent of the 'projects'.
And I could not be prouder.
Especially since in all my cookie making days he has never complained about the fact that I haven't made cookies specifically for him.
At the age of 40, my uncle has just become a Pennsylvania State Trooper. Whether it be very young or at the age limit cut off, being a cop and choosing a life to serve and protect is still noble and too often overlooked.
After 6 years of marriage and 2 years in the cookie world, it's about time I made some cop cookies.
I've always wanted to make handcuff cookies, but the police tape cookies were my husband's idea.
And that body outline...yeah...his idea, too.
I had to throw in some doughnut cookies for a good laugh.
No party platter would be complete without some personalized cookies.
I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year's Eve!!

Great set, Kate! Love the details in the cuffs and the police line, of course. Thanks to your husband too, for his noble work and congrats to your uncle! A lot to celebrate here!
