I had a paint party for one today. My back is killing me, but the furniture is painted!
I decided to not paint the desk just yet. Still can't figure out if I want to keep it or pitch it.
The first time I refinished a dresser I asked my dad for help. We stripped the old finish, sanded it, and lovingly restained it. All in all, it was a solid two day project. It was my husband's childhood dresser and the 15 years it endured belonging to a little boy needed to be removed. Yuck.
Then, five years later, I painted it white.
When I painted that real-wood, nice dresser white I used a paintbrush and followed along with the wood grain. I pulled out all of the drawers and painted every nook and cranny of it.
Things were different for today's paint project.
For starters, I was painting cheap laminate. I know this furniture is staying in the craft/cookie room and I have no intentions of displaying it in a prominent area in my home. Needless to say, I wasn't too worried about paint drips. I also didn't bother painting the inside of either dresser or the cabinet.
Look at that beautiful white bookcase! I've got several ideas for how I'm going to jazz it up a bit. All depends on which paint color I end up choosing for the room.
This 5 drawer small dresser is the future site of my cookie cutter storage.
I can't wait to get some cute drawer liner and labels for the drawer fronts.
And new drawer pulls. Eek! I'm so excited to get beautiful new knobs!
In the event of saving time, I didn't even bother to pull these drawers out.
Mostly because they're still full of my husband's police stuff.
Next Sunday's goal is to paint the room.
Which means that I have to decide on a paint color this week.
Oh my.
Decisions, Decisions!
