Once upon a time, a woman would get one baby shower for her first born child. It's a proven fact. Trust me, I took a poll!
Maybe, if you were super lucky, you would get two showers if you had family in different areas or group of co-workers or friends willing to throw you a shower. Or if your children were a significant number of years apart. I know my mom definitely had a baby shower for me (first born) and I remember she was thrown a shower for sister #4 (there are 6 years between #3 & #4).
Have you heard about the latest trend?
Throwing a sprinkle, instead of a shower! How cute is that?!
I actually love the idea. I read that the purpose of a baby shower is to shower the momma-to-be, usually with the special women in her life. To help the couple with some 'big ticket' items. Think over the top, elaborate decorations.
A sprinkle is a light shower (duh).
It's a good time to include Dad and the older siblings and is done with the intention of helping the couple (or momma-to-be) restock on those disposable items. (diapers, wipes, creams, etc.) Think less decor.
Anyway, now that you know more than you wanted to ever know about showers vs. sprinkles, how about a cookie picture?
My co-worker decided to throw a friend a sprinkle.
These cookies matched the printables she used for the party. So cute!
